Ok that is what I do.. I am in Romania working with sick/ abandoned children here. I am also unloading trucks from Denamark next week with cloths and diapers. I will also unlock my QA so you can go back and read some of my other post about the work I do. I am looking for someone out in the real word to work with me, doing exactly what you described. I am to cut off from the rest of the word here to do that kind of stuff alone. Feel free to email me..

sorry but if all the Charity’s were doing it correctly why would they need paying for there time as most only give 10p in the pound to help the rest is to pay there wagers

My trusty January 07 edition of the Reader’s Digest has a chart showing what a bunch of charities did with their money in 2004-5. Oxfam spent £226m, of which 66% (£149m) went on charitable work. In comparison, World Emergency Relief spent 95% of its expenditure on charitable work, but they only raised about £35m. I think I’m trying to say that although Oxfam spends a lot of its money on pestering people for money and running its shops, its presence and the fact that it’s so recognisable means that it has more actual money to use charitably in the first place! (However this might not actually answer your question. Sorry!)

You might be able to try somewhere like the Salvation Army, I think they might actually redistribute clothes – possibly not to the third world, but still to those who need them.

As for ebay, in case you aren’t already aware, to have a charity auction accepted by the powers that be on there you have to have a signed letter from the charity of your choice saying that they are supporting your auction, otherwise it’ll be closed down. It’s a bit of a minefield to do charity auctions on there as it has to be just so to be accepted.

Oxfam is a good one and is usually quite local – their shops are always wanting good quality clothes etc and will have literature on how you can help raise funds for them, or perhaps volunteer (eventually) in their shops.

i think you should make posters on saying the third world countries need your help and post them to other peoples doors and telll them to donate it to third world countries !

you can also go to church and ask your priest if you can have a speech to everyone at the end of church

Why search the 3rd world when the US has thousand of abandoned, abused, neglected, and orphaned children? Why do people want to help others before they help their own? There are hundreds of charities right here that need your help and support, spend your effort here and not abroad. EDIT: Your from the UK, the same problem exists there also, focus on those in your area.
